Jesus has a special compassion for the sick and suffering. He wants us to look out for them. If you are ill or home-bound, or in a retirement home or a care facility or if you know a parishioner who needs pastoral care, please contact the Pastoral Home Ministry. We will visit them, bring them Holy Communion and, if needed, offer them the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick by one of our priests.
Thank you wonderful St. Thomas Aquinas parishioners for your generous donations in April for our parish St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Conference. In addition to purchasing easy-open packages of food for our daily food bags, we were able to help with car registrations and repairs. Some people are still living in cars. We were able to pay two deposits for people to move out of their cars and into the new Palo Alto Housing on El Camino, as well as 2 emergency rents in Palo Alto.
Your parish’s Building & Equipment Maintenance Committee provides quarterly updates to the parishioners on significant repairs, improvements and other major facilities-related expenses. This report covers the third quarter of fiscal year 2017 (i.e., Jan – Mar 2017).
Dear Youth, The leadership team and I wish to congratulate you for making it this far in your faith journey as a Catholic! All of your effort toward growing in wisdom, knowledge and in your relationship with Christ has led to this very special moment of our life: the day of your Confirmation. In receiving this Sacrament, you have been sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, receiving special strength and graces that will allow Christ to use you in tremendously new ways if you only allow Him to do so. From this point onward, you are declared a fully-initiated Catholic in the eyes of the Church. So what comes next?
Following are two more activities of our parish Human Concerns Committee in the last year. If you’re interested in participating, please contact Paul Chestnut ([email protected])
In the years 1916 and 1917, through the tutelage of an angel and the Blessed Mother, two young children were led to holiness in just a few short years. That tutoring began in the spring of 1916 with three visitations of the Guardian Angel of Portugal, apparitions which served as preparation for the visits the following year of the Mother of God. http://ewtn.com/fatima/
