The California chapter of the North American Passive House Network is hosting its Building Carbon Zero California conference in Palo Alto on Friday, November 13 at Lucie Stern Community Center. Mayor Karen Holman will be kicking off the event on Friday morning. This conference will provide education on “healthy, comfortable and high performance buildings” and will appeal to contractors, designers, architects and residents interested green construction.
The Palo Alto Human Relations Commission (HRC) will sponsor a community forum on domestic violence at Mitchell Park Community Center, 3700 Middlefield Rd, El Palo Alto Room, on Wednesday, October 28, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Thanks to the parishioners who have pledged so far, we have a good start towards the $37,245 goal for the SAG site Solar Panel Project. This gift is tax deductible, generates renewable energy in response to Pope Francis's plea for cleaner energy, and will save our parish at least $7,500 per year in electricity costs for 25 years.
St. Thomas Aquinas Parish is working to develop an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). An important component of the preparedness plan is the emergency communications plan.
Please consider joining as a new Greeter or Eucharistic Minister. We need a large group of willing parishioners so that each person does not get called on too often. No prior experience necessary! We will be happy to arrange training from one of the veteran volunteers.
