Green Corner: Final Weekend: Used Eyeglass Collection
Thanks to the thoughtful parishioner donations of used eyeglasses, we have collected 79 pairs so far, including children's eye glasses. Our goal is to pass the 99 pairs we collected a year and half ago.
From the the Lions Club website: "In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become 'knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness.' And we accepted. Today, sight programs remain one of our defining causes.”
Most of the recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in developing countries where they will have the greatest impact.
Donate glasses and change someone's life. Imagine if you could help a child read. An adult succeed in his job. A senior maintain her independence. And provide a community with more opportunities to grow and thrive. Receptacles are in each church vestibule and at the Pastoral Center.
