I was informed by Bishop McGrath that Fr. Dat will be transferred to Our Lady of Refuge Parish in San Jose as Parochial Vicar. I was also informed that Fr. Michael Gazzingan, currently Parochial Vicar at St. Frances Cabrini Parish and chaplain at Good Samaritan Hospital, will be transferred as Parochial Vicar to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. Both assignments will become effective on July 1, 2016. We will have time to both thank Fr. Dat for his three years of service and welcome Fr. Michael in the weeks ahead.
This weekend April 16-17 is World Day of Prayer for Vocations, when we celebrate and pray for the men and women who have already, or who will in the future, choose to share God’s love through their lives as sisters, broth- ers, deacons, and priests. Did you know that the number one reason young people say they have not considered a vocation to priesthood or religious life is that no one has ever invited them to consider it? Do you know of someone who might be a good priest or religious sister? Why don’t you say something to him or her today?
