OCTOBER 9 - You Make the Choice; the pros and cons of the November ballot propositions hosted by The League of Women Voters.
The Human Concerns Committee has arranged this opportunity for our Parish. The various propositions often seem confusing. Don’t miss this chance to find out what they really mean. The League of Women Voters will give us the tools we need to examine the 11 California and 3 local propositions on the November 2012 ballot. They will explain what the propositions say and to tell us what people supporting it, and opposing it, say about them.
The League of Women Voters was formed in 1920 when women were finally allowed to vote. The League’s mission is to encourage informed and active participation of all citizens in all levels of government through education and advocacy. The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization, meaning that it doesn’t support or oppose any candidate or political party. It doesn’t shape the education or advocacy of issues to benefit a candidate or political party. The League is a non-profit, all volunteer, organization which shares a common interest in effective government and in educating our citizens.
Hear both sides of the questions and ask your own. Gather from 7:00 pm until 8:30 at Saint Albert the Great Hospitality Room; refreshments will be served.
