January 31st VOCATION STORIES in the OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT
Our guest speaker: Father Kselman
With such a vast topic, Father Kselman will only deal with a few of the most important stories in the Bible: the calls of Abraham and Moses, the vision of Isaiah, Jesus calling his disciples (Gospels of Mark and John), etc. He will prepare a handout for the talk, including the stories we will consider with some comments and a list of other vocation stories for personal meditation and prayer.
Many may remember Fr. Kselman from his talk last year: “Understanding and Praying the Psalms”. He is a well known expert on that topic and we are fortunate to have him return to speak with us again. Father John is currently a professor at St. Patrick’s Seminary. He was ordained in 1967 for the Society of Sulpice and completed graduate studies in the Old Testament and Near Eastern Studies at Harvard. He has had many teaching assignments over the years including St Mary’s in Baltimore; Catholic University in Wash. DC and Weston Jesuit School of Theology. Please join us!
