How do we understand suffering in the context of faith? Explore Buddhist, Hindu and Christian visions of suffering with special guest speaker Sherry Cassedy. Review and reflect on Pope John Paul II letter: Salvifici Doloris, On the Christian Meaning of Human Suffering. How do we integrate suffering into our experience; redemptive suffering, St. Mary’s suffering and the Passion of Jesus?
Sherry Cassedy is an adjunct faculty member at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology and has previously taught in the Religious Studies Department of Santa Clara University. She has an MA in Transpersonal Psychology and a Certificate in Spiritual Guidance. She is also a lawyer-mediator in private practice in Palo Alto. Ms Cassedy has been an active member of the Palo Alto Catholic Community for over 25 years.
