We believe that growth in faith is a lifelong journey, undertaken in community and guided by the Spirit.
We believe that the family is the primary community in which faith is shared and nurtured, and that the whole Church community puts itself at the service of the family to help form young Catholics.
We believe that our children deserve to experience, integrate and express the fullness of mature Christian faith--what we believe and how we celebrate, live and pray--at every age level, according to their stage of development.
We believe that children learn best through engaging, interactive strategies that challenge their natural curiosity and creativity; that effectively balance formation and information.
We believe that this is only accomplished as we continue to grow through experience and study; and are willing to proclaim our faith to our children through our creed, the sacraments, liturgies, morality and social justice, and prayer as a community.
The Catechetical Board (CAB), in support of the Catechetical Director and with the assistance of many parish volunteers, provides regular religious education formation for children. We nuture children in pre-K through 5 th grade, Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) and Children's LIturgy of the Word. In addtion to Sunday morning classes, the programs include family formation and activities/outreach projects.
Each year the Board supports the annual pancake breakfast and a booth at annual parish picnic, along with special School-year kick-off of faith formation classes, pre-K – 5 th grade.
The CAB meets every 2nd Friday of the month from 10am - 11:30am in the Pastoral Center. All are welcome to come and share new and creative ideas for sharing our faith.
