Gently-Used Sturdy Shoes
On November 2, the following notice appeared in the eBulletin:
“GENTLY USED STURDY SHOES NEEDED for the Opportunity Center.
If you have any gently used sturdy shoes in your closet that need a new home, the Opportunity Center really needs them! Comfortable sturdy walking shoes are most appreciated. Every day clients ask for shoes but there are none to give. . . .” This drive provided 127 pairs of shoes in new or good condition to the Opportunity Center.
CROP Hunger Walk
The CROP Hunger Walk is a “walk for charity” that raises money to help eradicate hunger throughout the world. This year, our parish joined teams sponsored by many churches throughout the Mid Peninsula. The walk took place on Sunday, October 2, starting at Burgess Park in Menlo Park. We created a team, the St. Thomas Aquinas Team that participated in the event and raised funds to enhance food security. Our team raised $1,140 for alleviating hunger.
