I am from Seoul, Korea, as well as my family. I came to the United States in 2003 to study English. All of my family resides in the Santa Clara area. I came to the United States of America before finishing my junior high. I attended Sierra Junior and High School in Cupertino. After high school, I started my general education at San Jose City College in 2008 while living at the Blessed Miguel Pro Formation House as a seminarian. After acquiring an AA degree, I transferred to the St. Patrick Seminary to attain a BA in philosophy.
Currently, I am in fourth year Theology as a transitional deacon for the Diocese of San Jose.
Before I began my studies for the priesthood, I was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at St. Justin’s Parish in San Jose. While in the seminary, I started to teach Catechism at Holy Korean Martyrs. I also served at O’Connor Hospital and prison for ministry before and after my Pastoral Year at Sacred Heart Parish in Saratoga.
This year, I am assigned to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. God willing, I will be ordained to the priesthood this coming June. I look forward to meeting all of you as I journey throughout the parish over the coming months.
