STA Kids Faith Formation Begins This Weekend: Family Gatherings and Break-Out Sessions
Summer has come and gone so quickly, and our publicschools begin next week. And to keep in line with ourpublic schoolsystem, our faith formation classes forgrades Pre-K to 5th Grades also begin next week. We have been encouraging all of you to register since the end of our sessionslast May, and we hope everyone who has not yetregistered will do so thisweek at our annual Pancake Breakfasts. We hope to see everyone at theseevents.
Here’s what to look forward to in the coming year:
1. Our first sessions are on August 20beginning with a family gatheringand break-out sessions into individual classes withparents meeting withme.
2. As our kids are formed in their faith, it is important for our parents tothink about their own faith formation. At St. Albert theGreat, sessionsfor parents will be offered every week during class. At Our Lady of theRosary, we will meet at least once a monthbeginning with our session onSeptember 10.
3. We are offering additional family gatherings on week nights from 6until 7:15 throughout the year. These sessions, held once amonth, willhelp both children and adults to grow in faith as a family and prepare for special seasons and events. Some will include special presenters andwill be open to our entire community. All of thesesessions will include asimple dinner.
As always, we need catechists and aides in our classes to make all of thishappen. Please prayerfully consider whether or not youare being called tohelp with our children’s faith formation. We also need catechists willing totake our children out for Children’sLiturgy of the Word during our Masses. If you are interested in either of these possibilities, please see me (Susan)after Mass fordetails or contact me at [email protected].
Wishing all of us a fabulous year of growing in our faith and our relation-ship with our good and loving God. God’s peace andblessings to all!
