God Is Not Finished With Us - Staff Reflection of the Week

God Is Not Finished With Us
Did you know that in the month of June, our Youth Ministry experienced two separate week-long summer camp retreats? Our first week of camp took place at Zephyr Cove in Lake Tahoe for the annual San Jose Diocesan Youth Retreat. Our next week of camp took place in Southern California at a camp at Big Bear Lake. Both retreats were incredible experiences con-sisting of hundreds of new friends, messy games, challenge courses, and powerful encounters with Christ that our teens will never forget.
The unfortunate reality of retreat experiences is that they eventually must end and we go back to an unchanged world waiting for us at home. At one of our retreats, our youth were given some parting words of hope before returning: God awaits our youth back at home because His work remains UNFINISHED in their lives.
How often do I forget that God never takes a break from loving me and bringing grace into my life! He is ever-present and invested because His work is unfinished in me, even when I am not aware of that fact! Perhaps you also forget this as I do so often. Let me please take a moment to remind you in the same way our teens were reminded—God’s work in your life remains unfinished! He is constantly loving you at this very moment. He is always providing opportunities to heal from hurt, grow in faith, and know Him more deeply. God is not finished with us. Now stop reading for a moment and take time to thank Him for that.
