Catechetical Mission Statement
Our mission is to foster and nurture the faith of our parish children in a lifelong journey with our Catholic Community.
Our goal is to provide a means of conversion consonant with the child's age and understanding. We strive to instruct the child in his/her faith as a Catholic. This continual conversion of children is a "belonging" process - a process of socialization which is taught as well as experienced.
Much of the catechesis for children greatly depends on forming and nurturing relationships with other believing children. This is why great emphasis is placed on the children attending Faith Formation classes regularly.
The true success of the program depends on the parents. The parent must insure the child attends all classes, learns their prayers, and experiences a Catholic environment as well as healthy faith practices at home.
Children's Faith Formation
Our Faith Formation classes meet on Sunday mornings: Our Lady of the Rosary site meet from 9:15am-10:15am preceding the 10:30am mass -and- St. Albert the Great site meet from 10:15am-11:15am following the 9am mass. Classes are offered to children ranging from Pre-K through 5th grade. These classes meet according to their grade level.
The Children's Catechumenate, known as (RCIA for Children) enables children in grades 3 through 12 to enter into a relationship with the living God and share in the life of their identity as Christians through the Rite of the Catholic Church. These classes are for those older children who have not been baptized or who have been baptized but who are still in need of their 1st Communion & 1st Reconciliation.
Classes meet on Weds. evenings, Sept. through May. Sacraments are received during Easter Vigil.
